For Week #5 of Summer Camp, our Children’s House kids created colorful, yummy recipes for “Cooking Week!” On “picnic day,” homemade lemonade, fruit kabobs, and tortilla wraps with their choice of nutritious components were on the menu.
Another day they learned how to roll and toss pizza dough, while others were chock full of “dirt cups” (chocolate pudding, Oreos, gummy worms, and jelly beans) and bananas dipped in chocolate and sprinkles! But Friday it was designer popcorn for “movie day!”
Our older campers had a blast with “Camping Week!” After learning how to list and gather essential supplies for their next campout, they tried their hand at tent building. Another day was enjoyed making tie-dye bandanas to wear for some good, old-fashioned hiking. And no camp experience is complete without traditional s’mores beside a crackling campfire!
